Washington: Amidst the ongoing conflict with Iran, US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to the nation, employing harsh language in the process. Posting on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump demanded the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

What did Donald Trump tell Iran?

Trump wrote: "Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open Hormuz? Time is running out fast; in 48 hours, all hell will break loose upon them." In doing so, he also made extensive use of expletives. He further remarked that on Tuesday, Iran would be celebrating "Power Day," "Plant Day," and "Bridge Day"—all simultaneously.

Trump's statement comes at a time when Iran has shown no signs of backing down in any way, and continues to carry out attacks on economic and infrastructural targets within its Arab neighboring nations in the Middle East. Given Iran's stance—specifically its continued assertion of control over the Strait of Hormuz—Trump had previously threatened "terrible consequences" if the strait was not reopened by Monday.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump stated: "We have successfully rescued a severely wounded and incredibly brave F-15 crew member/officer from deep within the mountains of Iran. The Iranian military was searching for him in massive numbers and was closing in on his location. He is a highly respected Colonel. Such raids are rarely undertaken, as they pose a significant risk to both life and equipment."

He continued: "This simply never happens! The first raid was successful, immediately followed by a second one. During the first raid, we rescued the pilot in broad daylight—an occurrence that is, in itself, highly unusual. We spent seven hours operating over Iranian airspace. Everyone involved demonstrated extraordinary courage and skill! I will be holding a press conference with the military in the Oval Office on Monday at 1:00 PM. May God bless our great military warriors."

What was Donald Trump's threat against Iran?

It is noteworthy that on Saturday, Trump had issued a threat to Iran, demanding that it reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, warning that failure to do so would result in "terrible destruction" being unleashed upon the nation. During this time, he reminded Iran that he had given them ten days to reach an agreement, stating that they were running out of time. Trump wrote on his social media: "Remember when I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open Hormuz? Time is running out; in 48 hours, a terrible devastation will be unleashed upon them."
